Chief Financial Officer - Seven30
Seven30 Re is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to serve as the senior finance leader for its Bermuda Class E reinsurance platform. Wholly owned by TIAA, Seven30 Re supports affiliated TIAA reinsurance, third-party reinsurance opportunities and other strategic initiatives. The CFO will be responsible for financial stewardship of the platform, including financial reporting, capital planning, liquidity and collateral management, transaction evaluation, regulatory and Board reporting, and financial governance. This role will work closely with TIAA and Nuveen finance, investment, actuarial, treasury, risk and legal teams and is suited to a sophisticated insurance or reinsurance finance executive who understands how transactions affect earnings, capital, liquidity, ratings and long-term shareholder value.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Serve as the principal finance officer for Seven30 Re and a key advisor to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
• Lead financial management, accounting oversight, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial controls.
• Oversee statutory, regulatory, management and Board reporting, including compliance with Bermuda Monetary Authority requirements and applicable accounting standards.
• Support evaluation, structuring and execution of affiliated and third-party reinsurance transactions, including assessment of accounting, capital, liquidity, collateral and financial implications.
• Contribute to the company's capital management framework, including capital planning, stress testing, dividend capacity analysis, return assessment and long-term financial projections.
• Partner with investment, treasury, actuarial and risk teams on asset-liability management, liquidity planning, hedging oversight and collateral management.
• Support rating agency strategy and external stakeholder engagement with regulators, auditors, banking partners and advisors.
• Provide financial insight on strategic growth initiatives, acquisitions, restructuring opportunities, sidecars, capital optimization and platform expansion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science or a related field.
• Professional qualification preferred, such as CPA, CA, CFA, FSA, FIA, ACCA or equivalent.
• Significant experience in insurance, reinsurance, retirement services or a related financial institution.
• Strong understanding of insurance and reinsurance accounting, financial reporting, regulatory capital, liquidity and capital management frameworks.
• Experience supporting senior executives, Boards of Directors, regulators, rating agencies or other external stakeholders.
• Experience with reinsurance transactions, asset-intensive insurance businesses, collateral arrangements, financing structures, asset-liability management, hedging programs or Bermuda regulatory requirements is strongly preferred.

Anticipated Posting End Date:

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
