About the Role

As production ramps up across our underground operation, Charge-Up Operators play a critical role in safely delivering high-quality blasting outcomes that drive consistent production performance.
Working in modern underground conditions with a strong safety culture and well-supported blasting systems, you’ll be responsible for charging development headings and stopes to design specifications. Accuracy, discipline and strict adherence to procedures are essential, as your work directly influences fragmentation, dilution control and downstream productivity.
This is a role for operators who take pride in doing things properly, understand the importance of controlled blasting, and want to be part of a team where safety and precision come first.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport, handle and charge explosives in underground environments
- Load blast holes to design specifications in development and production headings
- Install and connect initiation systems in accordance with procedures
- Conduct pre-charge inspections and verify ground conditions
- Ensure compliance with all explosive handling regulations and site procedures
- Collaborate closely with drillers, supervisors and blasting engineers
- Maintain accurate records of explosive usage and blast loading
- Support safe blast clearance and firing procedures
Requirements
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience in underground charge-up or blasting operations
- Strong commitment to safety, procedures and risk awareness
- Ability to work accurately in high-risk environments requiring attention to detail
- Current Shotfirer's Licence or recognised explosives handling certification
- Current Dangerous Goods Security Card
- Ability to follow procedures and work to plan
- Current Manual C-Class Driver’s Licence
