Job Description

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of PMO Operations, The Change Manager leads organizational change initiatives by developing and executing strategies that enable successful adoption of new processes, systems, and ways of working. This role partners with project teams, business leaders, and stakeholders to minimize disruption, build organizational readiness, and ensure employees are equipped to embrace change. Success in this role requires strong communication, stakeholder engagement, training, and change management expertise to drive sustainable business outcomes.

This position is expected to work onsite and/or in a hybrid work arrangement based on business and operational needs. The position requires regular on-campus presence, as determined by the department and the needs of the role.

**Continued employment in this position is contingent upon the project's duration, workload needs, and available funding.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute organizational change management strategies, processes, and tools that enable successful adoption of project and business initiatives across the organization.

  • Create and implement comprehensive change management plans that align with project objectives, organizational priorities, and business transformation goals.

  • Assess organizational readiness and evaluate the impact of planned changes on employees, leaders, business processes, and overall organizational performance.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate organizational, operational, and people-related risks associated with change initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Identify, manage, and address anticipated resistance to change through proactive engagement, coaching, and targeted stakeholder support strategies.

  • Partner with leadership to define employee roles, responsibilities, and organizational impacts resulting from business and technology transformation initiatives.

  • Develop and execute communication strategies that clearly explain upcoming changes, business impacts, and actions required to support successful adoption.

  • Design, coordinate, and deliver training programs, learning materials, and job aids that prepare employees and managers for organizational change.

  • Conduct stakeholder assessments to identify key influencers, sponsors, and impacted groups critical to successful implementation and long-term adoption.

  • Establish change success metrics, monitor adoption and readiness, analyze results, and recommend corrective actions to improve business outcomes.

  • Lead change management workstreams using structured methodologies while providing regular status updates, reporting, and recommendations to leadership and project teams.

  • Identify training needs across stakeholder groups and coordinate training logistics, schedules, resources, and delivery to support successful implementation.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Management retains the right to change or add job duties at any time.


QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive professional experience in IT management, large-scale transformation projects, or related field.

  • Demonstrated success in rolling out ERP systems-preferably Workday- in a university setting, with a track record of stakeholder engagement and high adoption rates.

  • Demonstrated expertise in planning and facilitating organizational change.

  • Strong knowledge of organizational change management principles, methodologies, techniques, and industry best practices.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and influencing skills across all organizational levels.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in fast-paced environments.

PREFERRED:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university.

  • Additional related certifications (e.g., CAPM, PMP, or Scrum Master).

  • Formal Change Management certification (ProSci. PMI-ACP, or similar)

  • Deep understanding of higher education operational structures, processes, and accreditation requirements.

  • Expertise in stakeholder engagement, conflict resolution, and overseeing cross-departmental training initiatives.

  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or Jira).

  • Certification in Parliamentary Procedures and Proceedings for Governance.

Salary Range

$125,000.00-$135,000.00 Annually
