As we continue to expand, we are looking for a CAD Technician to join our HV Overhead Line (OHL) team within the Power Sector.
Reporting to the OHL CAD Team Lead, you will play an integral role in delivering high-quality design outputs for a range of transmission and distribution projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative and supportive team, contributing to projects across HV Overhead Lines, underground cables, and substations.
Please note: Experience producing Overhead Line (OHL) Wire Clearance Diagrams is essential for this role and will be a key consideration during the selection process.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce OHL Wire Clearance Diagrams, Insulator Set & Conductor Sub-system Drawings, Material Lists, and Route Plan Drawings.
- Develop detailed drawings, models, and technical documentation for HV transmission and distribution projects.
- Update and modify designs in accordance with client standards, specifications, and procedures.
- Work closely with engineers and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver coordinated and innovative design solutions.
- Ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with CAD standards while meeting project deadlines.
- Support knowledge sharing within the team and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and "Right First Time" delivery.
You will ideally have:
- Demonstrable experience within HV Transmission & Distribution, Overhead Lines, substations, or underground cable projects.
- Proven experience producing OHL Wire Clearance Diagrams (essential).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D); experience with Bentley MicroStation, Civil 3D, or similar design software would be advantageous.
- HNC/HND qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering-related discipline.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset with a keen eye for detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
