Business Office Assistant / Medical Biller (SNF Experience Required)

Vasona Creek Healthcare Center is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Business Office Assistant / Medi-Cal Biller to join our administrative team in Los Gatos, CA. This is a full-time opportunity for an experienced professional with Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) billing experience who is passionate about supporting quality resident care through accurate financial and administrative operations.

Position Details

• Position: Business Office Assistant / Medical Biller

• Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday

• Location: Los Gatos, CA

• Pay: $25.00–$35.00 + HR (DOE)

Essential Responsibilities

• Process and manage Medi-Cal for a Skilled Nursing Facility.

• Assist with accounts receivable, payment posting, collections, and claim follow-up.

• Maintain resident trust accounts and reconcile daily financial transactions.

• Ensure accurate billing documentation and compliance with Medi-Cal facility policies.

• Answer phones, greet visitors, and assist residents and family members with billing inquiries.

• Maintain resident financial records, census reports, and business office documentation.

• Order office supplies, process incoming and outgoing mail, and provide administrative support to the Business Office Manager.

• Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.

Required

• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Billing experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).

• Working knowledge of Medi-Cal and HMO

• Experience with accounts receivable and collections.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).

• Experience using billing software and electronic medical records, preferably PointClickCare.

• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

• Professional communication and customer service skills.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred

• Associate's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Experience working in long-term care or post-acute healthcare settings.
