Purpose of the role

To enable the success of the business and assist senior leaders navigate complex challenges, make informed decisions, and achieve their goals

Accountabilities

• Collaboration with business and senior leadership to develop and implement business strategies that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
• Liaison between different business units and functions, fostering communication and collaboration.
• Management and coordination of strategic initiatives, projects, and change management efforts to optimize business processes and strengthen the control environment.
• Improvement of operational efficiency within the organisation including the identification of areas for improvement, streamlining of processes, and implementation of best practices to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
• Development of performance reporting for key metrics that reinforce the strategic objectives of the division and support the external commitments made. Involvement in aspects of financial analysis and budget management, including assistance in financial planning, forecasting, and monitoring of financial performance against targets.
• Support to business heads in partnership with HR on hiring, workforce planning, joiner/mover/leaver actions.

Join Barclays as a Business Manager Research, AVP, where you will help drive the strategy, governance, and operational excellence behind AI, data, and quantitative research. You will support the onboarding and coordination of external AI and data vendors, partner with Data Science and Quantitative teams to oversee proof-of-concept programs, and advocate for the infrastructure that enables research innovation. Your role will also involve supporting the development and guidance of structured data products, organizing research outputs such as models, signals, and datasets, and ensuring robust oversight of data usage, entitlements, and client access. As well as, working across a broad stakeholder network, you will help ensure that research data and insights are governed, packaged, and distributed efficiently to maximize business impact.

To be successful as a Business Manager Research, AVP, you should have experience with:

• Ample evaluative and organizational skills, with the ability to synthesize information and ensure priorities effectively

• Remarkable attention to detail, particularly in tracking, reporting, data management, and governance-related activities

• Confirmed ability to guide multiple workstreams simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data evaluation, reporting, and presentation development

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and stakeholders

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Knowledge of sell-side research and financial services industry practices

• Experience negotiating contracts

• Ample vendor management skills

• Remarkable attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to ensure multiple priorities and deadlines effectively

This role is located in New York, NY.

Minimum Salary: $105,000

Maximum Salary: $130,000

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
