The Business Data Analyst II supports the Corporate Real Estate and Workplace (CREW) team by transforming business, operational, and financial data into reliable datasets, actionable insights, and decision-ready reporting. The role partners with CREW stakeholders to understand business questions, define analytical requirements, and develop scalable data products using SQL and/or Python with data sourced from Snowflake. The analyst designs and maintains Power BI dashboards and visualizations that communicate trends, performance, risks, and opportunities to business leaders. In addition, the role helps automate financial operations activities by identifying process improvement opportunities, translating manual work into repeatable solutions, and evaluating emerging technologies. This includes exploring Agentic AI use cases and building proofs of concept in Microsoft Copilot to demonstrate business value, control considerations, and opportunities for broader adoption. The analyst applies a strong understanding of end-to-end data flows, data quality, and business context to ensure analyses are accurate, traceable, and aligned with CREW needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job.  Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below.  Specific activities may change from time to time. 

1.      Partner with CREW business and technology stakeholders to translate operational and financial questions into clear data, reporting, visualization, and automation requirements.

2.      Build, test, document, and maintain reusable datasets and analytical models using SQL and/or Python with data sourced from Snowflake and other approved enterprise systems.

3.      Develop and support Power BI datasets, dashboards, and visualizations that enable leaders and business partners to monitor performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions.

4.      Validate data completeness, accuracy, and consistency; investigate anomalies; document business rules and lineage; and coordinate remediation with data owners, source-system teams, and platform administrators.

5.      Apply knowledge of CREW processes and financial operations to provide meaningful interpretation of analytical results, not solely report production.

6.      Identify and support automation opportunities across financial operations activities, with emphasis on controls, traceability, process efficiency, and sustainable support models.

7.      Explore Agentic AI and Microsoft Copilot use cases, develop proofs of concept, assess feasibility and business value, and document requirements, limitations, risks, and recommended next steps.

8.      Use Microsoft Power Apps and related Power Platform capabilities, when appropriate, to develop or enhance lightweight business solutions that improve data capture, workflow execution, and user experience.

9.      Lead small analytical or automation initiatives and play a significant role in larger, cross-functional efforts, managing dependencies, risks, testing, stakeholder communication, and implementation activities.

10.   Explain complex data, technical concepts, and analytical findings to a range of audiences through concise narratives, visualizations, and recommendations.

11.   Work independently with minimal guidance, exercise judgment across multiple sources of information, and serve as a resource to teammates and business partners.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. In-depth knowledge of principles, practices, theories, and/or methodologies associated with the professional discipline (e.g., information technology, project management, finance, risk management, etc.). 3. Experience using SQL to query, join, transform, and validate data from enterprise data platforms or cloud data warehouses.
4. Focus on process automation to improve efficiency 
5. Understands foundational concepts of other related professional disciplines.
6. Experience developing business intelligence reporting and data visualizations in Power BI or a comparable enterprise analytics platform.
7. Knowledge of the industry's competitive landscape and the factors that differentiate Truist and its competitors in the market.
8. Ability to interpret and explain complex information to a range of audiences and build consensus among different stakeholders.
9. Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple assignments, and provide direction or knowledge-sharing to less experienced teammates.

Preferred Qualifications:
1.      Knowledge of data quality, reconciliation, documentation, controls, and end-to-end data processes.

2.      Experience supporting process improvement, reporting automation, or workflow automation initiatives.

3.      Experience managing small to mid-size projects or workstreams with moderate complexity.

4.      Experience using SQL and/or Python for data preparation, analysis, automation, or prototyping.

5.      Strong experience with Microsoft Power Apps and related Power Platform capabilities.

6.      Financial acumen or experience performing financial analysis, operational analytics, forecasting, reconciliation, or management reporting.

7.      Experience with Snowflake and development of governed, reusable datasets for reporting and analytics.

8.      Experience exploring Agentic AI use cases or building proofs of concept in Microsoft Copilot or comparable enterprise AI platforms.

9.      Experience supporting corporate real estate, workplace, facilities, capital projects, or related operational functions.
