Are you passionate about helping others live safer, healthier, more independent lives? Join our team at Waythrough and support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.

About the Role

We're looking for a passionate and motivated Building Recovery in Communities (BRIC) Coordinator to join our Reconnected to Health team at HMP Low Newton.

This is an exciting opportunity to help people build meaningful, sustainable recovery by connecting them with peer support, community resources and opportunities beyond custody. You'll work alongside individuals throughout their recovery journey, helping them develop confidence, strengthen social networks and access the support they need to live healthier, more independent lives.

Working collaboratively with colleagues, partner agencies and local organisations, you'll champion visible recovery, promote lived experience and help shape services that truly reflect the needs of the people we support.

What You'll Be Doing

As a BRIC Coordinator, you will:

  • Manage a caseload of individuals, developing and reviewing personalised recovery plans.
  • Carry out assessments, risk assessments and recovery planning to support positive outcomes.
  • Build strong partnerships with community organisations, employment and education providers, mutual aid groups and recovery networks.
  • Support people leaving treatment or custody to reconnect with their communities and build lasting recovery.
  • Promote and develop peer support opportunities, ensuring people with lived experience play an active role in shaping services.
  • Facilitate access to mutual aid groups, SMART Recovery and other recovery-focused activities.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to deliver coordinated, person-centred support.
  • Maintain accurate case records and contribute to safeguarding, risk management and service improvement activities.

About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about recovery and committed to helping people achieve lasting positive change.

You'll ideally have:

Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent), or be willing to work towards this qualification.
  • Experience delivering person-centred interventions and supporting people with complex needs.
  • An understanding of motivational interviewing, psychosocial interventions and recovery-focused approaches.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with service users, colleagues and partner organisations.

Desirable

  • A relevant qualification in Addiction Studies, Counselling, Social Work or another therapeutic discipline.
  • Experience of recovery planning, safeguarding and risk management.
  • Knowledge of local recovery services, community resources and mutual aid groups.
  • Experience supporting families, carers or peer-led recovery initiatives.
