Role Summary

We are looking for a Blockchain Customer Journey Expert to help shape and deliver the next generation of digital asset payments, tokenized money capabilities, and distributed financial infrastructure solutions within ING.

You will own the functional delivery of Digital Asset Strategy initiatives, working at the intersection of payments, tokenization, stablecoins, and wholesale banking. In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders across Wholesale Banking, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Architecture, and Engineering to translate complex business needs into actionable requirements and scalable solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong product and business delivery experience with a solid understanding of payment ecosystems, emerging digital asset models, and regulated financial infrastructures. We are looking for someone who can bridge business objectives, customer needs, and technology capabilities to drive impactful outcomes.

About the Team

You will join a growing team focused on building and scaling ING's digital assets and tokenization capabilities. The team works across multiple domains, including payments, settlement, compliance, operations, and technology, helping ING explore and deliver innovative solutions for the future of financial services.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic initiatives involving stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and next-generation payment rails while collaborating with international stakeholders across the ING network.

About You

• 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager, Customer Journey Expert, Payment Specialist, Business Analyst, or in a similar role within banking, fintech, payments, or digital assets.
• Strong stakeholder management experience across business and technology teams.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience translating complex business requirements into implementable product or delivery requirements.
• Experience working in Agile organizations.
• Fluent English communication skills (C1 level or above).

Domain Knowledge

Practical experience in at least two of the following areas:

• Cross-border payments
• Correspondent banking
• Clearing and settlement
• SWIFT and real-time payment systems
• Cash or liquidity management

Strong understanding of:

• Blockchain and distributed ledger fundamentals
• Stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and wholesale CBDC concepts
• Smart contracts from a business and functional perspective
• Custody, key management, and blockchain analytics ecosystems
• Tokenization platforms and digital asset operating models

Strongly Preferred

• Hands-on experience with stablecoins, tokenized deposits, tokenized cash, or blockchain-based payment solutions.
• Experience contributing to digital asset, tokenization, or distributed ledger initiatives.
• Familiarity with European digital asset and payment regulations, including MiCA.
• Experience working in regulated financial services environments.

Roles and Responsibilities

Product & Customer Journey Ownership

• Own the functional delivery of Digital Asset Strategy payment solutions and tokenized money capabilities.
• Define, document, and refine customer journeys, business processes, and functional requirements.
• Translate business needs into clear and actionable requirements for delivery teams.
• Support product discovery, prioritization, and implementation activities.

Digital Assets & Payments

• Contribute to initiatives involving stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and emerging digital asset payment solutions.
• Analyze and improve payment, settlement, and liquidity management processes.
• Support the design of future-state operating models for digital asset products and services.
• Evaluate market, customer, and regulatory developments impacting digital asset solutions.

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

• Connect Wholesale Banking stakeholders, payment and settlement experts, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Architecture, and Engineering teams.
• Facilitate alignment between business and technical stakeholders.
• Drive discussions, workshops, and requirement gathering sessions across multiple functions.
• Manage dependencies, risks, and delivery expectations throughout the product lifecycle.

Business Analysis & Delivery

• Prepare functional requirements, process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Support backlog refinement and prioritization activities.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure requirements are translated into effective solutions.
• Participate in testing, validation, and implementation activities to ensure business objectives are achieved.

Risk, Compliance & Governance

• Ensure regulatory, compliance, and operational requirements are incorporated into solution design.
• Collaborate closely with Risk, Compliance, and Legal stakeholders.
• Support governance activities related to digital asset and payment initiatives.
• Contribute to secure, compliant, and scalable product development practices.
