As a Benefits Consultant Senior within PNC's HR Strategy and Risk organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Cleveland, OH.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Benefits Consultant with a strong background in retirement plans, pension administration, and compliance. This role will support both defined contribution and defined benefit plans, with a preference for candidates who have deeper pension experience.

Key Responsibilities:
· Provide consulting and administrative support for 401(k), pension, and other qualified retirement plans.
· Analyze retirement plan data, troubleshoot complex issues, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
· Support retirement plan operations, including distributions, compliance testing, and day-to-day plan administration.
· Review and interpret discrimination testing results and assist with annual regulatory filings, including Form 5500 preparation and review.
· Partner with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure plan compliance and operational excellence.

Preferred Qualifications:
· Prior experience in the retirement services industry, retirement plan administration, or a Third-Party Administrator (TPA) environment.
· Strong knowledge of 401(k) plans, pension plans, discrimination testing, distributions, and retirement plan compliance.
· Experience with Form 5500 reporting and retirement plan regulatory requirements.
· Advanced Excel and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data, identify trends, and tell a compelling story through insights.
· Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and client-facing communication skills.

Job Description

  • Conducts research and analysis, clerical tasks, the implementation of benefits programs and policies, and other activities associated with the organization's employee benefits such as employee wellness and work life programs.
  • Conducts benefits analysis activities including the research, analysis, evaluation, and administration of corporate benefits plans and programs. May lead the execution of the organization's wellness and work-life programs and activities.
  • Ensuring all benefits programs and activities comply with related federal and state rules and regulations, e.g. Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of corporate benefits programs, policies, and procedures. May also direct the design and implementation of the organization's wellness and work life programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Working with appointed vendors for outsourced benefits programs to ensure employees questions and issues are properly resolved.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $40,000.00 – $106,250.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
