Back End Python and Automation Testing – Pune

What you will be doing:

• Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated and manual test solutions for enterprise applications.
• Develop automation frameworks and test utilities using Python and Shell scripting.
• Validate backend systems, APIs, data processing, and batch workloads.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation using complex SQL queries across large-scale databases.
• Work closely with software engineers, business analysts, and product owners to ensure quality is built into the software development lifecycle.
• Analyse requirements and create effective test scenarios, test cases, and automation coverage.
• Troubleshoot production and client-reported issues by performing application and data analysis.
• Execute system, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing activities.
• Validate system performance, reliability, scalability, and security requirements.
• Communicate testing progress, risks, defects, and results effectively to stakeholders.
• Support test planning, risk assessment, and mitigation activities.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4-5 years of experience in Software Testing with a strong focus on backend and automation testing.
• Strong hands-on experience in Python automation development.
• Strong experience with Unix/Linux environments, including Shell scripting.
• Strong database testing experience with expertise in:
• SQL query development and optimization
• Data validation and reconciliation
• Database debugging and analysis
• Stored procedures, functions, and database objects
• Experience working with large data volumes and complex schemas
• Experience testing APIs, batch processes, and backend services.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, defect lifecycle management, and quality processes.
• Experience working with Agile Scrum methodologies and SAFe/Value Stream concepts.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Zephyr Scale, and Confluence/Wiki.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global teams.

Desired Skills

• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Exposure to cloud-native technologies and modern application architectures.
• Knowledge of API testing tools and automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git/GitHub.
• Experience leveraging GitHub Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
• Financial services or capital markets domain knowledge is an added advantage.

Education Requirements:  

Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
