What You’ll Be Part Of
As an Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Architect, you will serve as the technical authority responsible for the architecture, security, scalability, and long-term evolution of HARMAN’s Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop environment. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Executive Director of Cybersecurity and Essential Services within the Digital Infrastructure, Cloud & Foundation Services organization. You will define and maintain the AVD architecture roadmap, establish security and operational standards, and ensure the platform delivers a stable, secure, and cost-effective end-user experience. Working across infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity teams, you will drive architectural decisions that support business growth, operational resilience, and technology modernization.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Own the end-to-end architecture and strategic roadmap for HARMAN’s Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop environment.
- Design and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure AVD solutions aligned with enterprise cloud and infrastructure standards.
- Establish architecture principles, design patterns, and governance standards for the deployment and operation of AVD services.
- Partner closely with Cybersecurity teams to develop and implement security architectures, hardening standards, and risk mitigation strategies for the virtual desktop platform.
- Evaluate current and future business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that improve user experience, platform performance, and operational efficiency.
- Lead architecture reviews, technical assessments, and design decisions related to AVD technologies and supporting Azure services.
- Drive FinOps initiatives by optimizing Azure consumption, licensing models, resource utilization, and overall platform costs.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering, operations, and support teams serving as the highest level of escalation for complex AVD architecture challenges.
- Develop and maintain reference architectures, standards documentation, operational runbooks, and technology roadmaps.
- Collaborate with Microsoft and other technology partners to evaluate emerging capabilities, best practices, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
What Makes You A Strong Fit
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop environments.
- Deep understanding of Azure cloud architecture, virtual desktop technologies, and modern workplace solutions.
- Strong experience developing secure infrastructure architectures and implementing security controls within Azure environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in AVD architecture components, including host pools, session hosts, image management, user profile solutions, and application delivery.
- Experience creating technology roadmaps, architecture standards, and governance frameworks.
- Strong understanding of Azure cost management principles and experience driving cloud cost optimization initiatives.
- Ability to independently solve complex technical problems and influence architectural decisions across multiple teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience collaborating across infrastructure, cloud, security, and operations teams in a global enterprise environment.
Bonus Points if You Have
- Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
- Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty certification.
- Experience with Azure security services and cloud governance frameworks.
- Knowledge of enterprise-scale virtual desktop migrations and modernization initiatives.
- Experience developing cloud architecture standards within large multinational organizations.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, automation, or cloud operational excellence practices.

- This role is based in Łódź, Poland and follows a hybrid work model, requiring 3 days per week in our Łódź office.
