Overview of Role

66degrees is looking for creative, dedicated, and personable technology business professionals for an Azure Cloud Architect position. We are looking for someone with a broad range of technical and consulting skills and aptitude. Our ideal candidate will display relentless curiosity and drive around how we organize ourselves and deploy/use technology to ensure our clients' Azure environments are reliable and secure. We are looking for the right fit with our growing organization and we will invest in training.

Responsibilities

• Build a trusted advisory relationship with strategic accounts and engage with management.
• Identify customer priorities, technical objections, and design strategies encompassing the Microsoft Azure ecosystem to deliver business growth and resolve blockers.
• Lead requirements gathering and project scoping.
• Solution design, problem-solving, and architecture diagramming.
• Provide domain expertise around public cloud and enterprise technology, and effectively promote Azure with clients, at conferences, and online.
• Provide recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure needed to implement a complete solution for clients.
• Lead planning, status, and standup meetings.
• Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Azure experience is a must. Experience in other clouds is beneficial.
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification required, other Microsoft, Kubernetes, or Terraform certifications a plus.
• Must have played 2+ years as an Azure Architect.
• Lead cloud architecture strategy, requirements gathering, solution definition, and technical discovery for Azure transformation initiatives.
• Experience in building, architecting, designing, and implementing distributed global cloud-based systems.
• Lead architecture workshops and translate business requirements into target-state architectures, solution designs, architecture diagrams, and implementation roadmaps.
• Design and implement Azure Landing Zones, governance, identity, networking, security, monitoring, and operational frameworks.
• Extensive experience with security (Zero Trust) and networking (Azure Vnets, Hub-and-Spoke, Express route, VPN, Entra ID etc..)  in cloud environments.
• Strong experience designing and advising on CI/CD and DevSecOps practices, with hands-on understanding of Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience in containerising workloads using Kubernetes/AKS, Docker, Helm, and Azure Container Registry.
• Experience with structured Cloud Architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premises-to-Azure migration deployments and roadmaps.
• Develop migration strategies and roadmaps covering discovery, assessment, landing-zone readiness, migration, modernization, and optimization.
• Knowledge of technology solutions and ability to learn emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to the development of Azure cloud capabilities, reusable patterns, and accelerators.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, engage and influence audiences.
• Excellent organisational skills and customer-facing communication.
• Proficiency in documentation and knowledge transfer using remote meetings, written documents, and technical diagrams/slide decks.
• Experience in implementing hybrid connectivity using VPN or ExpressRoute is a plus.
