We operate at a global scale and are looking for practical problem solvers who thrive on real-world challenges and rapid growth. Our team is motivated by building systems that have a direct, meaningful impact on people’s lives and by scaling the future of logistics. We are seeking people who sculpt from first principles, enjoy facing adversity, and can do the impossible at record breaking speeds.
ABOUT YOU AND THE ROLE
Zipline is looking for an Aviation Compliance Analyst to support aviation regulatory compliance across our Africa operations. This role will help ensure that Zipline’s flight operations, site operations, regulatory submissions, reporting practices, and internal compliance processes remain aligned with applicable aviation requirements and Zipline’s safety and operational standards.
You will work closely with the Global Aviation team, Africa regulatory and operations teams, and country leadership. The role may be remote, but it will require regular travel to Zipline nests and operational sites across Africa to support implementation, audits, regulatory engagement, documentation, and cross-functional training.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable moving between detailed compliance work and practical operational execution. The right candidate will be able to understand regulatory requirements, translate them into clear operating practices, build trust with internal and external stakeholders, and help teams maintain compliance in a fast-moving aviation environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-growing, multi-country aviation environment where structure, audit readiness and regulatory discipline are essential to operational scale.
This role is remote and includes substantial travel across the African countries in which Zipline operates.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Assist cross-functional teams in preparing regulatory approval packages, documenting conditions of approval, and maintaining post-approval compliance records.
- Maintain and update aviation manuals, regulatory documents, and operating materials to align with approved operations and applicable regulations.
- Format, organize, and version-control materials required for regulatory approvals, audits, inspections, and internal reviews through Zipline’s aviation compliance portal.
- Maintain compliance dashboards, trackers, and structured datasets covering licenses, permits, certificates, approvals, renewals, regulatory commitments, operational limitations, special conditions, open actions, and upcoming deadlines across multiple countries.
- Support compliance monitoring activities, including audit readiness, findings management, non-compliance tracking, CAPA follow-up, and closure-evidence capture.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to safety occurrences and regulatory reporting, including data capture, internal follow-up, and record management.
- Independently manage assigned compliance workstreams with minimal supervision, escalating risks, gaps, delays, or unclear requirements as appropriate.
- Standardize compliance processes, documentation structures, reporting templates, training materials, and internal reporting systems as Zipline’s operations scale across multiple countries.
- Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of compliance tools, safety management system platforms, and aviation compliance portals.
- Partner with country teams, operations leaders, safety teams, and aviation regulatory colleagues to identify compliance needs, translate regulatory requirements into practical systems, and support field-level implementation.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- 2-5 years experience in aviation compliance, quality, safety, documentation control, or aviation/flight operations (UAS or manned aviation).
- Strong ability to independently manage structured compliance workstreams with high attention to detail.
- Experience conducting or supporting internal audits and managing findings and CAPAs.
- Strong written communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to translate regulatory and operational requirements into clear, auditable systems and records.
- The ideal candidate is comfortable working across jurisdictions with varying regulatory maturity and is able to maintain rigor and consistency in complex, evolving environments.
- Willingness to travel as required.
