We’re seeking talented students to join Sonos’s Co-Op Program and explore what it means to blend creativity, technology, and sound. Our co-ops are an essential part of our team, bringing fresh ideas, learning from experts, and helping us push the boundaries of what’s possible. Come broaden your skills, share your input and pursue your passion with our 6 month co-op experience.

Work Period: Jan 2027 - June 2027

Location & Schedule: This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with a minimum 4 days per week onsite in our Boston, MA  office. There is no relocation or housing assistance for this position.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Be immersed in a fast-paced, collaborative, and highly cross-functional team environment
• Gain an understanding of the Audio Engineering role within a Sound Experience company
• Learn how to transform unrefined, interdependent requirements into highly optimized solutions, covering test plan development, prototyping, design reviews, validation, and manufacturing.
• Design and develop components, assemblies, and fixtures to support testing and measurement of loudspeakers, microphones and acoustic assemblies.
• Develop your skills in audio measurement, signal processing and analysis.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Basic Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a BS/BA or AA in Engineering program
• Fundamental interest in and curiosity of all things audio, how smart speaker products are designed, tested and manufactured!
• Demonstrated ability to execute development tasks independently with a “can-do” attitude.
• Ability to collect and present technical data, both written and verbally, to a wide audience. 
• Open and willing to initiate peer review of one’s work.
• Ability to work in a highly diverse, cross functional team.
• Sufficiently trustworthy to work in a high security, highly confidential laboratory.

Preferred Qualifications

• An interest in audio, acoustics, speaker building, sound reproduction or music production.
• Strong skills in physics, waves and oscillations.
• Hands-on 3D printing, machining and/or fabrication skills.
• Experience with circuit modelling in P-SPICE, VituixCAD or similar program.

PROGRAM QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled in a College or University with a preferred field of study in Audio or Acoustical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering
• Available to participate in our full-time co-op program from January - June 2027
• Ability to work out of our Boston office a minimum 4 days per week
