About the Opportunity

About the Opportunity

Northeastern University Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowships Program is a two-year experiential program designed to advance lifelong learning and the education and training of Pharm.D. graduates. A key element of the program’s success is preparing Fellows to meet evolving workforce needs across various sectors of the pharmaceutical industry.

Fellows have the opportunity to work closely with our innovative biopharmaceutical industry partners, while engaging with Northeastern University faculty in professional and career development, teaching, service, and scholarly activities.

In partnership with Northeastern University, AstraZeneca is offering a two-year CVRM Regulatory Affairs fellowship, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts and AZ’s brand new facility in Kendall Square.

About AstraZeneca

At AstraZeneca, we’re dedicated to being a Great Place to Work, where you’re empowered to push the boundaries of science and unleash your entrepreneurial spirit. It’s an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to medicine, patients, and society. We foster an inclusive culture that champions diversity and collaboration, while supporting lifelong learning, growth, and development. Together, we’re pioneering the future of healthcare.

We put patients at the heart of everything we do and strive to address unmet medical needs around the world. Working here means being entrepreneurial, thinking big, and collaborating to turn the seemingly impossible into reality. If you’re swift to act, confident in your leadership, willing to collaborate, and curious about what science can achieve, you could be the kind of person we’re looking for.

Our innovative Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism (CVRM) pipeline continues to grow. To support this expansion and meet the increasing need for regulatory expertise, we’re recruiting and developing Regulatory Affairs Strategists. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute across the drug-development lifecycle and support a rich and diverse pipeline of small- and large-molecule medicines. You’ll work across disciplines in a collaborative and inclusive environment, where Regulatory Affairs is a respected voice and an equal partner in the business.

Responsibilities

Are you passionate about science and experienced within regulatory affairs and drug development? Do you possess strategic and operational leadership skills? Then, join us at AstraZeneca Cardiovascular, Renal or Metabolism (CVRM) regulatory affairs to get involved in the global regulatory strategies and support the research, development and commercialization of our products across the portfolio!

As a Regulatory Affairs professional within AstraZeneca, you will play a key role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives. In Regulatory Affairs, our teams influence the development of our innovative pipeline, define the regulatory strategy for our therapeutic assets, and engage with Health Authorities to effectively inform our development programs. In this way, our Regulatory Affairs teams are transforming exciting science into valued new medicines for patients around the world. Strategic thinking is key within our function. The more experience you gain, the more accountability you will have for strategic input and leadership.

The CVRM Regulatory Affairs Fellow is not only a learning and development opportunity to understand the drug development process and the Regulatory Affairs role – this role provides strategic and operational regulatory support to the development, commercialization and life cycle management of assigned products. As experience increases, the Fellow will have increasing responsibility and may serve as the regional regulatory lead for assigned programs, contributing to crafting and implementing the clinical strategy and influencing stakeholders to improve outcomes.

The position is hybrid, with an expectation of at least 3 days per week in the office in Kendall Square.
