Role purpose

The Associate Vice President, SSD - APAC is the regional business leader accountable for accelerating sustainable growth, strengthening customer impact, and building an execution-focused organization across a business of approximately USD 250 million and more than 100 employees. The role owns regional strategy and operating performance, translates global priorities into clear market actions, and creates the conditions for teams to win as one across APAC.

Leadership mandate

·    Own the APAC SSD business strategy, annual operating plan, revenue delivery, profitability, market development, and organizational health.

·    Set a compelling multi-year growth agenda, balancing near-term execution with investments that create durable customer and market advantage.

·    Lead with a customer-first mindset, ensuring strong executive engagement with strategic accounts and disciplined recovery of service, supply, quality, or commercial issues.

·    Build a high-performing, inclusive, and accountable leadership team with clear ownership, fast decision-making, and strong cross-country collaboration.

·    Act as the APAC voice in global SSD forums, shaping enterprise priorities while ensuring effective regional adoption and execution.

Key responsibilities

Business growth and performance

·    Deliver regional revenue, orders, margin, and operating commitments while establishing leading indicators and corrective actions early.

·    Identify and scale growth opportunities across countries, market segments, strategic accounts, channels, and solution portfolios.

·    Lead rigorous business reviews, forecast discipline, pipeline quality, resource allocation, and investment tradeoffs.

·    Improve commercial productivity and simplify ways of working through data, digital tools, and standardized operating mechanisms.

Customer and market leadership

·    Deepen executive relationships with priority customers and partners, converting customer insight into differentiated value propositions and growth plays.

·    Champion end-to-end customer experience across sales, service, applications, operations, and support functions.

·    Strengthen market intelligence, competitive positioning, pricing discipline, and value-based selling.

·    Ensure major customer risks and escalations have clear ownership, timely communication, and sustainable resolution.

Strategy and execution

·    Translate enterprise and SSD strategy into an actionable APAC roadmap with measurable outcomes, milestones, and accountabilities.

·    Partner with global business, marketing, service, operations, finance, and supply-chain teams to prioritize the portfolio and accelerate adoption.

·    Make deliberate resource and investment choices across mature and emerging markets, focusing on the highest-impact opportunities.

·    Create a repeatable cadence for execution, learning, course correction, and sharing best practices across the region.

People and culture

·    Lead, coach, and develop a diverse organization of 100+ employees, strengthening succession, leadership depth, and critical capabilities.

·    Create a culture of customer obsession, candor, accountability, inclusion, recognition, and continuous learning.

·    Attract and retain high-caliber talent and establish clear expectations and differentiated development plans for pivotal roles.

·    Enable fast information flow and collaboration across countries, functions, and global teams.

Governance and enterprise leadership

·    Operate with the highest standards of ethics, compliance, quality, safety, and financial stewardship.

·    Provide transparent, fact-based communication on performance, risks, opportunities, and required decisions.

·    Represent SSD and APAC with key internal and external stakeholders, including customers and partners.

·    Contribute beyond the direct remit as a member of the broader APAC and global leadership community.

Measures of success

·    Achievement of annual and multi-year revenue, orders, margin, and operating-plan commitments.

·    Profitable share growth in priority markets, segments, accounts, and solution areas.

·    Improved forecast accuracy, pipeline health, pricing realization, and commercial productivity.

·    Stronger customer loyalty, executive sponsorship, retention, and resolution of critical escalations.

·    Effective strategy deployment, cross-functional execution, and return on prioritized investments.

·    Improved employee engagement, leadership effectiveness, succession coverage, retention, and capability depth.

·    Consistent performance in compliance, quality, safety, and operational governance.

Candidate profile

·    Proven senior business leadership experience with commercial and operating accountability in a complex, multi-country APAC environment.

·    Demonstrated success leading a business of meaningful scale, delivering profitable growth, and transforming execution across diverse markets.

·    Strong strategic judgment with the ability to translate market insight into choices, investments, and measurable results.

·    Deep customer orientation and credibility with senior executives, strategic accounts, channel partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.

·    Experience leading large, geographically dispersed teams and developing high-performing leaders and successors.

·    High financial acumen across planning, forecasting, portfolio prioritization, pricing, resource allocation, and performance management.
