Associate Transplant Coordinator - Kidney Transplant - Columbia University Irving Medical Center (Day Flex)

The Associate Transplant Coordinator works closely with Transplant Coordinators (RN) and clinical staff to support comprehensive care for kidney transplant patients. This role involves coordinating administrative aspects of transplant processes, including communication with patients, clinical staff, and outside organizations. The coordinator ensures the smooth progression of patient care by managing appointment scheduling, document completion, and addressing patient needs throughout the pre-transplant process.

Relying on significant knowledge of transplant donor and recipient treatment requirements and transplant patient wait lists protocols, coordinates with Transplant Coordinators and clinical team to expedite the provision of comprehensive transplant care and services. Assists with appointment scheduling and ancillary transplant services as requested including post-treatment appointments. Inputs sensitive patient data into scheduling system and arranges for interpreter services, as needed. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

This position is located at New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. This is a Day Flex position and hours vary from 7am to 6pm Monday-Friday.

Preferred Criteria:

• Bachelor's Degree
• EPIC knowledge
• Transplant work experience

Required Criteria:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge in Medical Terminology
• Administrative experience in a clinic setting
• Knowledge of third-party insurances, government programs, and other insurance agencies for purposes of obtaining any necessary authorizations for treatment
