The Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology & Biotechnology at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position from candidates conducting cutting-edge, biotechnology-focused research. We seek exceptional scientists whose work aligns with the department's core mission. This is an academic-year position within the College of Agriculture, Biotechnology & Natural Resources.

We welcome outstanding applicants ready to build a high-impact, nationally recognized, extramurally funded research program in biotechnology oriented human health & disease, plant science, or arthropod research. The successful candidate will join a collaborative department committed to research excellence, innovative teaching, and meaningful service.

Required qualifications:

• Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.

• A strong record of research productivity commensurate with experience level.

• A commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population.

Preferred qualifications:

• At least two years of postdoctoral research experience.

• A demonstrated history of prior funding.

• Teaching experience in the areas of molecular biology, biotechnology, or related fields.

Grants-in-aid for Faculty Employees

The University is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate.
