Sobre este puesto de Assistant Mechanic @ Bandon Dunes Golf Resort en Dreamgolf
At Bandon Dunes, the golf course is the star — and it depends on equipment that never lets the team down. As an Assistant Mechanic, you’ll work alongside our agronomy team’s mechanics, learning hands-on how to keep mowers, reels, and utility vehicles running so our grounds crew can deliver the pristine playing conditions our guests come for. It’s a chance to build real mechanical skills in a supportive shop environment, with an experienced team ready to show you the ropes.
What You’ll Do:
- Support Equipment Repairs: Help inspect golf course equipment for operating issues and assist with repairs under the guidance of the Mechanic and Equipment Manager.
- Handle Routine Maintenance: Service, lubricate, and adjust equipment to keep it running smoothly, building your hands-on maintenance skills with every job.
- Assist with Reels and Blades: Help replace reels, set cutting heights, and support blade grinding and reel rebuilding work.
- Pitch in on Tire Service: Assist with tire changes and repairs as needed.
- Keep the Shop Running Smoothly: Maintain a clean, organized shop, track parts and supplies, and keep accurate service records.
- Grow Your Trade Skills: Learn welding, fabrication, and diagnostic techniques from experienced mechanics as you take on more responsibility over time.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- Mechanical Aptitude: Some experience with mechanical, automotive, or small-engine repair — or a strong interest in learning the trade.
- Hands-On Skills: Comfortable working with hand and power tools, with the grip and dexterity for repair work.
- Team Player: Good communication skills and a willingness to take direction, ask questions, and learn from experienced mechanics.
- Positive, Reliable Attitude: A professional manner and strong work ethic, even when the job gets a little greasy.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
A Few Things to Know:
- Physical Demands: This role involves standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods, and lifting up to 50 lbs with assistance (20–30 lbs frequently).
- Work Environment: You’ll be in a working shop and outdoor setting — with exposure to weather, fuels, solvents, and loud equipment — so following safety procedures is essential.
- Schedule: Hours may include days and evenings, weekdays and weekends, based on business needs.
- Driving: A valid driver’s license is required.
- Screening: Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
