About us

Nanyang Technological University is a research-intensive university known for connecting technology with human-centred design. The Centre for Health, Culture, and Society is a new interdisciplinary research centre in the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, dedicated to advancing research and creative practice at the intersection of health, culture, and society. We bring together researchers from across four Schools with doctors, artists, writers, caregivers, and patients to understand how culture, communication, and creativity shape the way people live with health and illness. We work in partnership with major Singapore hospitals, arts organisations, and patient advocacy groups, and we run a seminar series, annual conferences, practitioner workshops, and a taught Masters programme.

The role

We are looking for a Centre Administrator to run the administrative, financial, and operational side of the Centre. Reporting to the Director, you will be our sole dedicated administrator, and you will have unusual scope to shape how a new centre works. This is a varied role for someone who enjoys owning processes end to end. You will:

• Manage and monitor the Centre's budgets across several funding streams, process financial transactions, and prepare financial reports for the Director and funders.
• Support grant applications and manage post-award reporting, milestone tracking, and audit documentation.
• Plan and deliver our events programme, including conferences, a seminar series, and workshops for healthcare professionals.
• Act as the administrative point of contact for our hospital, arts, and community partners, and maintain partnership records and agreements.
• Provide secretariat support to the Centre's Steering Committee and advisory boards.
• Maintain our website, newsletters, and mailing lists, and support public engagement.
• Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and visitor arrangements with NTU Human Resources, and support our Masters and undergraduate programmes.

What we are looking for — essential

• A good Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• At least three to five years of experience in an administrative, project coordination, or operations role, ideally in a university, research institute, hospital, arts organisation, or non-profit.
• Demonstrated experience of managing budgets and financial administration independently, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience of organising events from planning through to delivery and reporting.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines with limited supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Good to have

• Experience of research grant administration, pre-award or post-award.
• A background in the humanities, social sciences, public administration, or business administration.
• Familiarity with NTU or comparable university finance, procurement, and HR systems.
• Experience of working with hospitals, arts organisations, or community partners.
• Website content management and newsletter or social media experience.
• An interest in health, culture, and society.

This is a three-year fixed-term appointment, renewable. Based at NTU's Nanyang Avenue campus.
