Program Summary
The National Science Foundation (NSF) manages the United States Antarctic Program (USAP). The USAP supports all U.S. scientific research and related logistics in Antarctica and aboard USAP vessels that operate along the continental margin and in the Southern Ocean. Science within the Antarctic research portfolio is chosen and funded by NSF and other Federal agencies, including NASA, NOAA, and the Department of Energy. The purpose of the Antarctic Science and Engineering Support Contract (ASESC) is to enable that science.
All participants are responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority. This includes compliance with all ASESC environmental health & safety, and quality assurance requirements.
Job Summary
The Data & Business Systems Packet Lead serves as the subject matter expert responsible for the transition, assessment, and ongoing support strategy for the program's data services, information assurance capabilities, enterprise applications, and bespoke business systems. This role ensures the seamless transfer and continued operation of critical data platforms and applications that support program operations.
The position provides technical leadership for the transition of KBR's MIS Portal, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) platforms, and custom-developed systems while ensuring data integrity, system performance, and compliance with information assurance requirements. The ideal candidate combines expertise in data management, business applications, systems integration, and information security with the ability to support both modern enterprise platforms and legacy systems.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead the transition of data services and information assurance capabilities.
- Develop and oversee the forward-maintenance strategy for the MIS Portal.
- Manage the transition of COTS applications, including Pipeline, Maximo, IPM, and related platforms.
- Support the transition, assessment, and oversight of bespoke business systems, including Attack, Erebus, and other custom applications.
- Ensure data integrity, system performance, operational readiness, and continuity throughout transition activities.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to support successful system integration and long-term sustainment.
Basic Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, Business Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 5+ years of experience supporting business applications, data services, enterprise systems, or systems administration.
- Experience with data management, system administration, information assurance, or systems integration.
- Experience supporting enterprise software platforms and business-critical applications.
- Knowledge of database concepts, data governance, and application lifecycle management.
- Ability to analyze business processes, troubleshoot system issues, and implement effective solutions.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise COTS platforms such as Maximo, ERP, logistics, asset management, or maintenance management systems.
- Familiarity with information assurance, cybersecurity, and federal data security requirements.
- Experience supporting database management, reporting, analytics, or business intelligence solutions.
- Knowledge of systems integration, data migration, and application transition activities.
- Ability to learn and support custom-developed or legacy business systems.
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL, Security+, CISSP, Microsoft, or database-related credentials.
