The Opportunity: As the Animal Facilities Care Supervisor, you will play a vital role in supporting the clinical and teaching missions of the Washington State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH). Reporting to the Animal Care Facility Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of small animal care services and ensure the highest standards of animal welfare, biosecurity, sanitation, and regulatory compliance are maintained throughout the facility.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary: $3,917 to $5,240 | Range 43 | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

• Two years of experience as an Animal Technician 3, at least one year must include lead OR supervisory responsibility; OR equivalent education/experience.

• Equivalent experience may include a Bachelor’s Degree, progress toward degree and/or customer service experience.

• Must pass WSU radiation safety training exam first time it is available.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with and caring for canine, feline, birds, and exotics.

• Experience in general maintenance and repair.

• Experience handling waste and performing custodial duties.

• Experience stocking inventory and completing laundry.
