AI Engineer, Copilot Platform
Role overview
Copilot Engineer combines expertise in the Microsoft AI ecosystem with strong software development and business process skills. A successful candidate will design, build, and deploy custom AI solutions using Microsoft Copilot technology to drive productivity, automation, and digital transformation for our organization.

- Agile and Full Lifecycle Approach: The Engineer is involved in the entire project lifecycle, from gathering requirements and designing to deploying, testing, and supporting the final solution.

Roles and responsibilities
Solution development and implementation
- Design and develop AI agents, custom connectors, and workflows using Microsoft Copilot Studio and Power Automate to address specific business challenges.
- Integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems, APIs, and data sources, including the Microsoft Graph, to provide agents with contextual information.
- Apply prompt engineering techniques and utilize generative AI models to enhance Copilot capabilities and responses.
- Utilize other Azure AI services, such as Azure OpenAI, Azure Cognitive Services, and AI Builder, to create more intelligent and automated solutions.
Governance, security, and compliance
- Develop and enforce AI governance policies, including responsible use, data handling, and lifecycle management for prompts, connectors, and plugins.
- Implement security best practices and configure access controls to ensure Copilot usage aligns with internal policies and compliance frameworks.
- Enable auditing, logging, and data protection mechanisms (e.g., Microsoft Purview) for AI solutions.
Adoption and enablement
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify opportunities for AI-driven automation and process improvements.
- Create training materials, documentation, and prompt libraries to drive user adoption and increase productivity.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor, conducting workshops and demos to demonstrate the value of Copilot solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
Operations and maintenance
- Monitor AI performance, usage telemetry, and system health, troubleshooting technical issues as they arise.
- Manage the application lifecycle of Power Platform solutions, including CI/CD pipelines, ALM practices, and version control.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging Microsoft AI technologies and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Required skills and qualifications
- Technical expertise: Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), and Azure AI services.
- Programming proficiency: Experience with scripting languages like Python or PowerShell for automation and integration.
- AI knowledge: Strong understanding of generative AI concepts, large language models (LLMs), conversational AI design, and prompt engineering.
- Communication: Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Certifications (Preferred): Relevant Microsoft certifications, such as Power Platform Developer Associate (PL-400).
