Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Ag Asst 2 will assist in the maintenance of garden spaces, student employee and volunteer guidance, and event support related tasks.  Job responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) Garden Management such as: plant and/or plant pest identification, planting, weeding, deadheading, mulching, raking, pruning, staking, digging, protecting for winter, and watering; Grounds and Equipment Management such as leading snow removal, emptying trash cans, cleaning and sharpening garden tools, and operating garden equipment; Seasonal Staff and Volunteer Management such as leading one or several students through a small garden project of limited scope and complexity and orienting and working with volunteer groups on a specific garden task; and Event Support such as assisting with install or removal of exhibits, setting up for special events, tearing down after special events, and working during special events. The employee is also expected to greet and answer questions from garden visitors.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Horticulture
- Experience working with volunteers
- Experience working in public horticulture
