Summary of Job Duties:

The Advising Center Assistant reports to the Director of Advising & Retention and is responsible for a variety of clerical and advising duties focused on increasing student persistence and retention. The assistant will maintain and review student records as they pertain to degree completion. Additionally, supplemental documents, digital resources, and orientation materials will be created/maintained as student resources. The Advising Center assistant will participate in academic and career advising sessions which require confidential communication with students. The assistant will also be responsible for other institutional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: 

• • Associate’s degree

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• • Bachelor’s degree
  • Background in higher education admissions or student services

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• • Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
