Job Description:
- Completes assessment of pain history and develops plan for acupuncture therapy in collaboration with pain team.
- Administers appropriate acupuncture theraputic care and procedures according to treatment plan and standard practices.
- Monitors patient's progress and adjusts treatment plan as necessary. Participates in care conferences with Pain Team to evaluate alternative care when goals of acupuncture are deemed ineffective.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting treatment plan and response.
- Educates patients and families on the procedure and the risks and benefits of acupuncture. Provides education to other health care team members on the use of acupuncture.
- Adheres to customer service principles as defined by Nationwide Children’s Hospital to both internal and external customers. Protects confidentiality of patients.
Education Requirement:
Master's Degree or equivalent for obtaining certification, required.
Licensure Requirement:
Licensure by the Ohio Medical Board, required.
Certifications:
Certification by the National board of Acupuncture or Oriental Medicine, required.
Skills:
Acupuncture skills to meet board requirements.
Experience:
- One year of practice or education in an integrated medicine environment, required.
- Experience with pediatric acupuncture, preferred
