We're looking for a Payroll and Stock Accountant to join our team. We're a fast-paced startup, so if rolling up your sleeves, multitasking, and staying on top of multiple projects concurrently is what you look forward to in your work, we want to talk to you.
What You Get to Do:
• Prepare and process semi-monthly U.S. payroll through ADP, accurately and on time.
• Own the monthly international payroll cycle for the UK, Spain, India, and China, working with in-country
providers.
• Administer employee benefits and 401(k) deductions, contributions, and funding.
• Administer the sales commission compensation plans and process commission payouts.
• Administer the equity program on Carta, including grants, exercises, terminations, and employee profile data.
• Record stock-based compensation expense and maintain the fully diluted share count and cap table reporting.
• Reconcile payroll-related GL accounts and post payroll journal entries in NetSuite at month-end.
• Partner with HR on payroll data, personnel changes, and monthly headcount reporting.
• Own payroll tax compliance, including filings, notices, state registrations, and workers' compensation returns.
• Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns.
• Support external audit requests and ad-hoc projects as needed.
What You Bring to the Role:
• Bachelor's degree, with 5+ years of GL, payroll, and stock accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll practices and multi-state tax and wage laws; experience with multi-jurisdiction sales
and use tax filings is a plus.
• Experience supporting payroll across multiple countries and coordinating with in-country providers is preferred.
• Experience with ADP and NetSuite is required.
• Exposure to equity administration and stock-based compensation accounting, including cap table and fully
diluted share reconciliation; experience with Carta is a plus.
• Experience administering sales commission or incentive compensation plans is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, start-up environment, prioritize tasks across multiple
assignments, and learn quickly.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, and a high standard of confidentiality and discretion handling
compensation and equity data.
*This role is based in our Foster City, CA office full-time. The expected salary for this full-time position is $130,000 to $155,000. Compensation is determined by various factors such as qualifications, experience, relevant education or training.
