We are hiring two Veterinary Technician Assistants to join our compassionate, collaborative Intermediate Care Ward (IMCW) team. Flexible scheduling options available (Night/Weekend focus with cross-coverage / backup to Emergency & Critical Care as needed). Schedules are provided at least two weeks in advance. This position is available at 90%–100% FTE (36–40 hours per week).
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Assists with and executes the preparation, completion, and documentation of basic technical animal care procedures, assessments, and medication administration according to established care plans and medical necessity (25%)
- Maintains organization of and updates records related to medical procedures and billing (15%)
- Assists with routine laboratory tests and specimen collection according to established medical orders and care plans (10%)
- Inventories and organizes supplies (10%)
- Serves as a point of contact for animal owners and stakeholders providing information and answering questions (20%)
- Cleans and maintains organization of animal holding spaces, work areas and equipment (10%)
- Documents and disseminates results to the appropriate entities (10%)

Compensation:
The anticipated pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00 per hour, but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Shift Differential: Up to additional +$5/hour offered for qualifying add-ons and differentials.

Required Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical veterinary experience (such as an assistant/handler in general practice, urgent care, shelter medicine, or specialty setting).
Physical Demands: Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds independently and comfortably perform physical tasks including standing, bending, and animal restraint.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of a Veterinary Assistant program or relevant coursework.
Experience in an emergency, urgent care, or high-volume inpatient ward setting.
Strong desire to learn, collaborate, and grow within a teaching hospital environment.

Associates Degree Preferred
