Location: York, PA
Job Type: Direct Hire
Shift: 2nd Shift
Starting Rate: $39.00/hour + $3.00 2nd shift differential (higher depending on experience)

Must have structural steel fabrication industry experience.
Must have previous leadership or foreman experience.

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Structural Steel Parts & Plates Foreman to lead second-shift fabrication operations. This hands-on leadership role oversees shop employees, production activities, materials, equipment, scheduling, quality, and delivery requirements while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct, and support shop employees throughout the shift.
  • Enforce company policies, safety requirements, and established work practices.
  • Oversee daily fabrication activities, including personnel, equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Maintain and update production and fabrication schedules.
  • Coordinate deliveries and help keep projects on schedule.
  • Develop and maintain standard fabrication procedures.
  • Monitor quality control to ensure products meet required standards and delivery deadlines.
  • Identify ways to improve productivity, employee effectiveness, and fabrication quality.
  • Coordinate with other departments and facilities regarding project schedules, product status, quality, and delivery.
  • Maintain equipment and facility needs as required.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Monitor shop workload and communicate staffing or production needs to management.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels in coordination with the first-shift foreman, operations management, and purchasing.
  • Determine staffing and work hours needed to meet production and delivery schedules.
  • Make operational decisions that support company goals and customer commitments.
  • Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in structural steel fabrication.
  • Previous foreman, supervisor, or leadership experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication operations and industry practices.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage employees, production priorities, schedules, and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to work 2nd shift, overtime, and Saturdays as needed.
