Senior Maritime Structural Engineer

What you’ll do

As a Senior Maritime Structural Engineer for our Ports, Marine & Coastal team based in Brisbane, you’ll join Aurecon’s global centre of excellence and help shape, design and deliver major port, maritime and shipyard projects across Australia.

You’ll work alongside a highly regarded multidisciplinary team with a proud history of shaping port infrastructure across Queensland and beyond. Your work will span the full project lifecycle, from early studies and concept development through to detailed design, delivery and the transformation of existing assets. You will:

• Lead and deliver marine structural and port engineering projects across different stages of the project lifecycle.
• Develop practical, bespoke structural solutions for complex maritime environments.
• Work on major defence shipyards, port authority infrastructure, container terminals and sustaining-capital programs.
• Contribute to green-energy export, offshore wind and public and recreational maritime projects.
• Build trusted relationships with port, resources, industrial, defence and energy clients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve integrated project outcomes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to developing engineers.
• Clearly communicate complex structural engineering concepts to clients, stakeholders and other disciplines.

What you’ll bring

You’ll bring strong structural engineering fundamentals and substantial experience within marine, maritime or port infrastructure, supported by the ability to lead projects and build confidence with clients.

• Relevant engineering qualifications and RPEQ (or working towards achieving RPEQ).
• Demonstrated structural engineering experience, ideally across ports, marine or maritime infrastructure.
• Experience shaping, leading and delivering projects from concept through to execution.
• Strong technical capability in marine structures and bespoke structural design.
• Client, stakeholder and project management skills.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to make complex engineering concepts easy to understand.
• A collaborative approach and a willingness to support and mentor other team members.
• A commitment to continuous learning and developing your career alongside recognised technical specialists.
