What You’ll Do

You will lead practical, high-quality building services solutions across major local and international projects, bringing specialist hydraulics and/or fire protection expertise to a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

  • Lead hydraulics and fire protection design for complex building projects from concept through construction.
  • Develop practical solutions for gravity drainage, trade waste, domestic hot and cold water, stormwater and fire protection systems.
  • Translate architectural and project requirements into coordinated, buildable services solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance, design reviews and advice to engineers and project teams.
  • Collaborate with architects, fire safety engineers, clients and multidisciplinary teams to resolve complex design challenges.
  • Contribute to projects across Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia and Asia while strengthening Aurecon’s specialist capability.

What You’ll Bring

We welcome experienced engineers at different stages of their careers. Whether your depth is in hydraulics, fire protection or both, we are interested in the specialist capability you can bring.

The ideal candidate will bring the following:

  • A demonstrated technical expertise in hydraulics and/or fire protection, with the confidence to provide technical leadership on complex projects.
  • A proven record designing commercial domestic hot and cold-water distribution, sanitary plumbing, foul water drainage, stormwater and fire protection systems.
  • Ideally, at least six years of relevant building services consulting experience. Candidates with different levels of experience will also be considered where technical capability and discipline expertise are strong.
  • Preferably, a Washington Accord-accredited degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
  • A thorough working knowledge of the Building Act 2004, the New Zealand Building Code and local Building Consent Authority processes.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • CPEng registration or the authority to sign ACC producer statements is desirable.
