We are looking for a Senior Compliance Officer / Senior In-House Legal Counsel to join our team!

The Senior Compliance Officer / Senior In-House Legal Counsel is responsible for developing, implementing and reviewing the company’s compliance policies and procedures. The role also serves as the company’s primary point of contact for legal and compliance matters.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor developments in e-commerce, payments and card-scheme regulations;
  • Issues opinions and recommendations, prepares and negotiates agreements, internal acts and other documents;
  • Provide compliance guidance on the company’s products and services;
  • Proactively identify the resources required to meet regulatory obligations and mitigate non-compliance risks;
  • Implement remedial measures in response to regulatory breaches or non-compliant activities;
  • Identify and research jurisdictions with regulatory authority over the business and assess the impact of applicable rules and principles;
  • Conduct periodic training to keep employees informed of regulatory and legislative developments;
  • Lead and manage the periodic compliance monitoring process, including its planning, coordination, oversight, and implementation, to ensure the company’s operations remain compliant with applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures;
  • Support department managers and team leaders in establishing internal procedures across the company;
  • Exchange information with and act as the main point of contact for supervisory authorities and government bodies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Finance, Economics or another relevant field;
  • Minimum five years of professional experience in the e-commerce industry as a Regulatory Compliance Officer, In-House Legal Counsel or in a similar role;
  • In-depth knowledge of UK and EU legislation, FCA requirements, card-scheme requirements and payment schemes, including Visa, Mastercard, SEPA, American Express, UnionPay and Discover;
  • English proficiency at C1 level or higher;
  • Excellent organisational skills and a high level of integrity and loyalty;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
