Position Details

Overview:

In the group-wide marketing organization, you will be responsible for planning and executing the authentication infrastructure of the Rakuten membership system and the strategy for utilizing member information, delivering value to both services and members.

Currently, Rakuten’s active user base exceeds 45 million per month in Japan alone. However, we are not satisfied with the status quo and continue to take on new challenges, such as building safer service usage mechanisms and creating stronger connections between members and services within the Rakuten ecosystem.

In this role, you will work closely with service owners, privacy and security teams, and development teams to lead large-scale projects related to authentication, authorization, and identity verification (eKYC).

Responsibilities:

- Develop and evaluate membership enhancement strategies using Rakuten ID for domestic and international services.

- Define requirements, identify challenges, and assess impact through interviews, analysis, and documentation.

- Collaborate with business owners, developers, and executives to align on initiatives and gain consensus.

- Create project roadmaps and manage tasks.

- Identify, resolve, and manage risks and issues that arise during project execution.

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Experience in internet business or web services 

- Experience in defining business requirements 

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience leading large-scale projects involving 50+ stakeholders 

- Advanced business English proficiency 

- Practical experience working in multinational teams or cross-cultural environments
