About this Quality Engineer - PEGA role at Synechron
Job Description:
- Ensure the quality, reliability and functional correctness of Pega applications through structured testing.
- Design and execute functional, integration, regression, system and end-to-end test scenarios.
- Work closely with Business Analysts, Architects and developers to understand requirements and identify quality risks.
- Manage defects through their complete lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare test strategy, test plan, test scenarios and the requirement traceability matrix.
- Develop test cases from business requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Execute functional and regression testing.
- Perform integration and end-to-end testing.
- Validate Pega workflows, case types, stages, SLAs, routing, correspondence and business rules.
- Perform Pega unit testing and support the Automated Unit Testing framework and coverage reporting.
- Build and maintain automated regression tests using Pega Scenario Testing, Selenium or equivalent.
- Validate REST/API integrations using Postman, SoapUI or ReadyAPI.
- Perform data validation via SQL, Clipboard inspection and Data Page behaviour checks.
- Execute security and role-based access testing across access groups, roles and privileges.
- Perform cross-browser, responsive and accessibility testing on Constellation and traditional UI.
- Identify and document defects; perform defect triage and retest.
- Support SIT and UAT, including environment readiness and business user enablement.
- Validate fixes and perform regression testing.
- Prepare test execution reports and quality dashboards.
- Support release quality gates and go/no-go recommendations.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to shift-left quality practice.
Technical Qualification: Minimum knowledge, skills, abilities needed:
- Strong software testing experience.
- Experience testing Pega applications.
- Knowledge of Pega Case Management, case types, workflows and SLAs.
- Familiarity with Pega unit testing and Pega Scenario Testing.
- Understanding of API testing.
- Experience with REST/SOAP.
- Knowledge of SQL/database validation.
- Experience with Jira/Azure DevOps or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC.
- Agile/Scrum experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- BCA / MCA / B.Sc (Computer Science) is also acceptable.
Preferred Qualification:
- 4+ years testing experience.
- 2+ years Pega testing experience.
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification.
- ISTQB Advanced Level - Test Analyst or Technical Test Analyst.
- Certified Pega System Architect (CPSA / CSA) is strongly recommended for meaningful Pega testing.
- Experience with Pega test automation.
- API automation experience.
- CI/CD experience.
- Experience with performance testing.
- Agile testing certification (ICAgile ICP-TST) or CSM.
- Experience in enterprise financial services/insurance projects.
