Painter & Decorator

Location: Exeter

Contract: Permanent, 42.5 hours per week

Salary: £31,059 per annum

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team in Exeter, delivering high-quality repairs, maintenance and refurbishment work across our housing portfolio.

In this varied role, you will carry out painting and decorating work within occupied and void properties, supporting kitchen and bathroom upgrades, damp and mould treatments, reactive maintenance and refurbishment projects. You will work to high standards, ensuring excellent customer service and compliance with all health and safety requirements.

About the Role:

• Preparing and painting internal walls, ceilings, doors and woodwork
• Applying emulsion, gloss and specialist finish to a high standard
• Carrying out damp and mould treatments
• Stripping wallpaper and preparing surfaces for decoration
• Completing snagging and touch-up work following other trades
• Supporting void property refurbishments and reactive maintenance tasks
• Maintaining tools, equipment and company vehicle to a high standard
• Accurately completing job records and associated documentation
• Communicating professionally with tenants, clients and colleagues
• Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations
• Working flexibly to meet service demands and deadlines

Key Criteria:

• Proven experience in painting and decorating
• Experience carrying out damp and mould treatments
• City & Guilds qualification in Painting & Decorating or equivalent trade qualification
• Full UK manual driving licence
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work safely and independently while maintaining high standards

Desirable:

• Plastering qualifications
