About this Manager, Works and Contracts (Safety) (3-year contract) role at Urban Renewal Authority
The Urban Renewal Authority (“URA”) is tasked to undertake, encourage, promote and facilitate urban renewal of Hong Kong in accordance with the provisions of the Urban Renewal Authority Ordinance and the Urban Renewal Strategy published by the Government. The URA adopts a comprehensive and holistic approach by ways of its two core businesses i.e. redevelopment and rehabilitation, as well as preservation, revitalisation and retrofitting, for creating a sustainable and quality living environment for the people of Hong Kong.
Responsibilities:
Oversee audits, inspections, and performance reviews for compliance with Occupational Safety and Hearth (OS&H) management systems and safety management plans
Manage safety and construction-related words matters for joint venture and self-delivered projects, including high-risk works
Supervise Resident Safety Officers and construction methods to ensure statutory and contract compliance
Conduct OS&H inspections, identify hazards, and lead safety improvements and awareness initiatives
Review safety submissions and monitor compliance across projects
Liaise with external stakeholders and support internal and external safety audits
Investigate accidents, recommend corrective actions, and enhance OS&H strategies and programs
Drive implementation of Smart Site Safety System (4S) and promote safety technologies
Requirements:
Degree holder in Engineering, Building Construction, HSEQ disciplines, or other similar disciplines
Possession of both Registered Safety Officer (RSO) and Registered Safety Auditor (RSA) qualification is mandatory
Not less than 10 years of relevant work experience with at least 5 years of post-RSO qualification experience
Strong knowledge of OS&H legislation and excellent communication and report writing skills
The appointment will be made on a 3-year fixed-term contract, which may be renewable subject to appointee’s performance, the Authority’s business needs, and other relevant factors.
