Senior Landscape Architect - Job Description

Position Overview

We are looking for a creative and motivated Landscape Architect to support the design and development of landscape projects from concept through execution. The role involves assisting with site analysis, concept development, technical drawings, planting design, 3D visualization, material selection, and coordination with consultants and project teams.

The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of landscape design principles, strong visual and technical skills, attention to detail, and an interest in creating functional, sustainable, and aesthetically engaging outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing concept designs, site plans, landscape layouts, and detailed drawings.
  • Conduct and document site analysis, including existing vegetation, levels, drainage, access, climate, and site conditions.
  • Prepare 2D drawings, plans, sections, elevations, details, and presentation drawings.
  • Assist with planting plans, plant selection, schedules, and landscape specifications.
  • Support the preparation of hardscape and softscape designs, including paving, walls, decks, water features, outdoor furniture, lighting, and other landscape elements.
  • Develop 3D models, renderings, perspectives, and visual presentations.
  • Assist senior architects in preparing design presentations and client submissions.
  • Coordinate landscape drawings with architectural, structural, MEP, civil, and other consultant drawings.
  • Participate in site visits and project inspections and document site observations.
  • Assist with reviewing shop drawings, material samples, and contractor submissions.
  • Help prepare BOQs, quantity estimates, material schedules, and specifications.
  • Incorporate feedback from senior designers, clients, consultants, and project teams.
  • Research plants, materials, sustainable design practices, and landscape trends.
  • Ensure drawings and documentation follow project standards, office standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain organized project files, drawings, references, and revisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.
  • 0–3 years of professional experience in landscape architecture or related design work.
  • Good understanding of landscape design principles, planting design, grading, materials, and construction detailing.
  • Strong visual, creative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in some or all of the following:

  • AutoCAD
  • SketchUp
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe InDesign
  • Lumion / Enscape / V-Ray / Twinmotion
  • Microsoft Office
  • Revit
  • Basic knowledge of BIM software is an advantage.
