Job Overview
We are hiring an experienced Heavy Equipment & Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, and other motorized equipment. Candidates must be available 24/7 for emergency repairs and willing to travel as needed.
Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, and other motorized equipment.
Follow daily work assignments and safety instructions from the Shop Foreman.
Ensure tools and parts are available to minimize equipment downtime.
Complete work orders accurately, documenting mileage, operating hours, and repairs.
Communicate emergency repair needs to the Shop Foreman and prioritize assigned work.
Maintain an organized work area and equipment.
Collaborate with the team to complete repairs on schedule and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
At least 5 years of heavy equipment, trailer, or crane maintenance experience.
At least 5 years of experience in two additional technical areas, such as hydraulics, electronics, or small engines.
High school diploma/GED and trade school or equivalent training in diesel mechanics.
Two years of technical or vocational training and five years of hands-on repair experience.
Professional certifications related to heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
Valid driver's license and good driving record.
Ability to use computers, communicate effectively, stay organized, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Available 24/7 for emergency assignments and able to travel up to 50%, including out of state.
Physical Requirements
Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, walking, and lifting.
Ability to work extended hours and in varying weather conditions.
Regularly lift up to 50 lbs; assistance is required for items weighing over 75 lbs.
