Key Responsibilities:
- Rig and animate hero objects, looping idles, one-shots, and state transitions for web and mobile (React Native) platforms.
- Own the end-to-end animation pipeline across multiple game variations, mechanics, and visual assets.
- Collaborate closely with product designers and front-end engineers to ensure animations perform smoothly on low-spec mobile devices.
- Build state-machine-driven animations where states can be entered seamlessly at any point in player progression.
- Composite layered scenes and integrate motion seamlessly into live product features.
- Participate in creative brainstorming, pitching animation concepts, and refining visual mechanics for future products.
Requirements:
- Fluent with Spine 2D, Adobe Animate, or comparable skeletal rigging tools (including mesh deformation).
- Strong core animation instincts — weight, anticipation, squash and stretch, and precise timing.
- Experience creating seamless loops and working with state machines rather than linear timelines.
- Proficiency in After Effects and experience compositing layered scenes.
- Strong collaborative mindset and interest in working closely with engineers to ensure optimal technical performance.
Nice to have:
- Experience with Rive or a desire to learn it is considered advantageous.
- Previous experience in iGaming or casual mobile gaming is a plus, but not required.
- Illustration skills or experience leveraging AI art tools (e.g., Midjourney, Stable Diffusion) in your pipeline is an asset.
