The Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating civil construction activities across Assala Energy project sites. The role supports the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of construction works by supervising contractors, monitoring project progress, ensuring adherence to company standards and HSSE requirements, and supporting the successful completion and handover of facilities and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise contractor personnel and day-to-day construction activities on site.
  • Monitor construction works to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, schedules, and company standards.
  • Ensure contractors apply safe work practices and comply with Assala Energy HSSE policies and procedures.
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, inspections, and contractor HSSE activities.
  • Monitor progress against project plans and provide regular updates to the Project Construction Superintendent.
  • Prepare and maintain construction progress reports and supporting documentation.
  • Verify that all construction activities are executed in accordance with approved engineering and quality requirements.
  • Review, accept, and document completed work scopes and contractor deliverables.
  • Ensure inspections are performed in accordance with company inspection and quality control requirements.
  • Verify that inspection reports and quality documentation are completed and submitted for approval.
  • Identify non-conformities, deviations, and quality issues, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
  • Ensure technical queries, field changes, and scope modifications are properly documented and approved through the relevant management process.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Operations teams, Logistics, Drilling, and other stakeholders to support project execution.
  • Maintain accurate records of drawings, reports, correspondence, and project documentation.
  • Support commissioning, handover, and close-out activities to ensure a smooth transition of completed works to operations.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with contractors and internal customers.
  • Promote safe working practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • HNC, Technical Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within the oil and gas industry
  • Demonstrated experience supervising civil construction projects and contractor workforces.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, quality assurance, and quality control processes.
  • Experience working in operational and brownfield environments.
  • Proven ability to monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Good understanding of HSSE requirements applicable to construction activities.
  • Experience reviewing engineering drawings, technical documentation, and construction work packs.
  • Familiarity with contract management and contractor coordination processes.
  • Strong organizational, reporting, and documentation management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Fluent in English.
  • French language skills are considered an advantage.
  • Additional training in HSSE, QA/QC, or Contract Management is desirable.
  • Experience in infrastructure, roads, buildings, industrial facilities, or airport construction projects would be advantageous.
