Work Location: Toronto West Office, Hybrid

Pay Range: $50,328 - $62,897

The successful candidate will be responsible for processing claims transactions; entering data into the General Insurance System (GIS); maintaining filing systems; and providing administrative support to the claims team.

Key Accountabilities

Note: This section is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities – other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

 Claims Support

  • Opens and assigns new claims files. 

  • Answers and returns phone calls and e-mail inquiries.

  • Enters claims information into GIS and Guidewire   

  • Orders reports for the claims department. 

  • Processes windshield claims.

  • Maintains up to date electronic notes.

  • Processes Salvage cheques and invoices.

  • Resolves routine administrative problems.

  • Ensures all inquiries are effectively dealt with in a timely manner.

  • Ensures a high level of customer service is achieved and maintained.

Stakeholder Relationships

  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with claimants, insureds, brokers and service providers.

Leadership

  • Actively contributes to and supports a culture of a high performing workforce.

  • Participates in divisional succession plans, ensuring ongoing professional and career development and supports development in others.

  • Supports a culture of leadership and accountability to effectively deliver on strategic and corporate strategies.

  • Is actively committed to leadership development across the company, supporting team and workforce readiness through mentoring, training and developmental opportunities.

Corporate Management

  • Enables the success of programs and policies that are in alignment with corporate, strategic and divisional strategies.

  • Manages risk in area of authority.

  • Ensures that the Health, Safety and Emergency Management Policy is applied in area of responsibility.

Education & Experience

  • A one-year certificate from an accredited post-secondary education institution in a relevant field of study such as Business or Office Administration.

  • One to two years’ experience in an office environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of office procedures and office equipment.

  • Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Knowledge of claims procedures. 

  • Knowledge of the principles and practice of insurance
