Anglicare is looking for an experienced Capital Works & Renovations Manager to lead the delivery of capital works and residential renovation programs across our diverse Retirement Living property portfolio. This is an opportunity for an experienced property or construction professional to combine project delivery, commercial management, people leadership and continuous improvement in a role with genuine portfolio-wide impact
Your opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Asset Management, you will take portfolio-wide responsibility for ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and consistently, with a strong focus on quality, cost, timelines, procurement, and risk. You will have scope to improve standards, strengthen commercial outcomes, develop your team, and contribute to quality environments for the people and communities we serve.
With integrity and resilience, you will:
- Lead the delivery of capital works and renovation programs across a complex, multi-site property portfolio.
- Oversee projects from planning and procurement through to delivery and completion.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, project schedules, risks, and commercial performance.
- Drive improvements in quality, consistency, cost effectiveness and renovation turnaround times.
- Lead and develop Project Managers and delivery team.
- Partner with contractors, consultants, Procurement, Property, Finance, and operational stakeholders.
- Establish consistent project standards, governance, and delivery processes.
- Use performance insights and lessons learned to continuously improve project outcomes.
What you’ll bring
You will have proven experience leading capital works, renovations, or construction projects within complex property environments, backed by strong commercial acumen, project delivery expertise and people leadership skills. You will be a confident communicator who can effectively manage stakeholders, contractors and competing priorities while consistently delivering quality outcomes.
What’s required:
- Extensive experience in capital works, construction, renovations, or project management.
- Proven experience managing complex capital programs across multiple sites.
- Demonstrated experience leading project teams and managing contractors and consultants.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, Construction, Property, Engineering, Building or a related discipline.
What’s preferred:
- Aged care, retirement living, healthcare, or similar property sector experience.
- Strong commercial capability across budgeting, forecasting, procurement ,and contract management.
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills
- Leadership experience managing teams
