We are continuously expanding our business and striving to improve the quality of our services daily to meet various user needs related to travel, such as a wide selection of accommodations, destination information, and inspirational content. Since then, Localization Group has grown to offer translation services in 9 languages. The scope of our work has also grown to include the inbound rent-a-car platform as well.

Position Details

As a Language Lead, you have a natural command of Hong Kong Traditional Chinese and will ensure that Rakuten Travel’s products are commercially ready, accurate, and appealing to the target audience. In this position, you will establish the guidelines for the zh-HK language and work together with the Localization Group to ensure timely delivery of localized content at the expected level of quality.


・Translating from en-US into zh-HK
・Proofreading zh-HK content drafted by vendors/stakeholders
・Maintaining the quality of the target language
・Participating in initiatives to standardize and improve translations
・Communicating with relevant teams to ensure compliance


・Translating new/updated information for hotels in Japan
・Post-editing feature articles on popular attractions in Tokyo
・Revising translations of geographic data by comparing them with information on our official website to improve SEO

Mandatory Qualifications:

・Native speaker of Hong Kong Traditional Chinese
・+3-5 years of experience translating/proofreading
・+1-2 years of experience using CAT tools
・Bachelor’s Degree

Desired Qualifications:

・JLPT N2 certification or higher
・Strong computer skills
・Strong interest in travel
・1-3 years of experience working in travel, hospitality, or e-commerce
・1-3 years of experience writing localized copy
