Department Overview
Rakuten Mobile launched its full-scale service in April 2020 as the fourth MNO (Mobile Network Operator) in Japan-the first to be approved in 13 years-to provide high-quality mobile communication services at fair prices. We are growing rapidly, surpassing 8.5 million connections in February 2025.

We began full-scale service provision for corporate clients in January 2023. As a core business driving the future growth of the Rakuten Group, we are making large-scale investments that are attracting significant attention both domestically and internationally.

The System and Process Design Group within the Corporate Business Operation 1 Section handles a wide range of tasks, from requirement definition to implementation and post-implementation bug support for both internal tools and customer-facing services. Within this scope, testing is an essential role for the success of our corporate business, as it guarantees the quality of our products.

We are looking for a Test Design Member who can take on critical testing responsibilities and support the provision of high-quality services. We aim to provide the best user experience to our customers by conducting swift and accurate testing for the new features and improvements that are released one after another, and by discovering and resolving potential issues at an early stage.

・Test strategy formulation, test planning, test case design, test execution, test result analysis, and test reporting

・Promotion of test automation

・ Test team management and member development

・Collaboration and communication with development teams

・Researching the latest testing technologies and considering their implementation

Work Environment
Department: Approx. 100 members/Section: Approx. 65 members
Backgrounds: Telecommunications, manufacturing, retail, new graduates, etc.

It is a fresh environment with many young members. Since the Rakuten Mobile service itself is relatively new within Rakuten, even the members with the longest tenure have been here for only about five years. Our team consists of members from diverse backgrounds, including the telecommunications industry, manufacturing, trading companies, and venture firms.

Mandatory Qualifications:

・3+ years of experience in software development or software testing

・Experience in test design, test case creation, test execution, and test result analysis

・Experience using test automation tools

・Knowledge of test design methodologies

・Strong communication skills in a team environment

・Problem-solving skills

・Strong sense of responsibility and high motivation to learn

・English proficiency: TOEIC score of 600 or higher (or equivalent qualification)

Desired Qualifications:

・Experience as a test leader

・Experience in building test automation frameworks

・Experience in Agile development

・English proficiency (reading technical documents and conversation)

・Development experience

・Knowledge of various development languages and tools
