We are currently looking for an Instrumentation & Calibration Technician to join our team in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

The individual in this position will work directly with Test Teams and Management to ensure that the test readiness across the Farmington Hills and Troy Campuses.

A Day in the Life: 

Calibration Management

• Manage and coordinate all outsourced calibration services for the Farmington Hills and Troy campuses.
• Obtain quotations, schedule services, track status, and ensure timely completion of calibration activities.
• Maintain calibration records and enter data accurately into company systems.
• Generate reports and provide status updates to management as requested.
• Cross-train and perform in-house calibrations in accordance with established procedures and training requirements.

Procurement and Sourcing

• Source laboratory consumables, supplies, and services requested by testing teams and management.
• Research and evaluate suppliers to identify cost-effective alternatives while maintaining quality and delivery requirements.
• Support purchase requisition and procurement activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of purchasing transactions and supplier information.

Continuous Improvement

• Review current processes and make recommendations to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
• Collaborate with management and testing teams to establish best practices that support laboratory readiness and operational effectiveness.
• Assist with inventory tracking and other operational support functions as assigned.

• Associate degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a testing laboratory, calibration, procurement, or related technical environment.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and track activities at different stages of completion.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills and responsibilities.

Desired: 

• Experience coordinating calibration services or maintaining calibration records.
• Familiarity with laboratory operations and testing environments.
• Experience working with procurement or supplier management.
• Knowledge of calibration management systems, databases, or CMMS software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
