For our technology team in Zurich, we are looking for a Team Lead – Software Engineering & Atlassian Platforms to lead people, coordinate priorities and ensure reliable delivery. Combining a strong engineering background with hands-on Atlassian expertise, you will guide technical decisions, support complex challenges and drive internal process digitalisation using Java/Kotlin, Kafka, Spring Boot and OpenShift (Docker). You will own the direction, operation and evolution of Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence and Assets, with a focus on the Data Center-to-Cloud transition and a sustainable operating model. What would your role be?

• Lead and develop the team: lead, coach and develop Atlassian engineers and software specialists. Create an inclusive, collaborative and delivery-focused environment with clear objectives, ownership and development paths.
• Coordinate priorities and delivery: translate strategy and demand into a transparent roadmap and manageable backlog. Coordinate resources, dependencies, operational work and change initiatives, and remove obstacles for the team.
• Own stakeholder relationships: act as the primary contact and escalation point for business and technology stakeholders. Communicate decisions, risks, progress, service quality and priorities clearly, including at senior-management level.
• Shape the Atlassian platform: own and evolve the strategy, architecture and operating model for Jira, Jira Service Management and Assets. Ensure stable, secure and compliant services, effective lifecycle management and measurable service quality.
• Drive the Cloud transformation: guide the technical and organisational transition from Atlassian Data Center to Cloud, including application assessments, marketplace app rationalisation, migration decisions, governance and organisational readiness.
• Provide engineering leadership: guide solution design, integrations, automation and platform standardization. Establish pragmatic development practices, code quality, testing, documentation and review standards.
• Stay selectively hands-on: contribute to complex configuration, development, integration and troubleshooting topics when your involvement adds value, without becoming the delivery bottleneck.
  

What are we looking for?

• Leadership and coordination: Proven experience leading technical teams or senior specialists. You set direction, make decisions, delegate effectively, resolve conflicts and help people grow.
• Software engineering foundation: Several years of practical experience designing, building, testing and maintaining enterprise applications. Strong understanding of clean code, APIs, integrations, automated testing, CI/CD and maintainable architecture.
• Relevant development skills: Hands-on experience with Java and/or Kotlin and modern development frameworks such as Spring Boot. Experience modernizing codebases and reviewing implementation approaches is valuable.
• Atlassian expertise: Practical knowledge of Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence and Assets in a complex enterprise environment. You understand configuration, workflows, permissions, automation, integrations and operational platform needs.
• Platform and service mindset: Experience with platform governance, service management, operational processes, security and compliance. You connect technical choices with customer value, reliability, cost and risk.
• Communication: Clear, pragmatic and trustworthy communication across engineering, operations, business and management. Fluent English is required; German is highly desirable.
• Affinity for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and a willingness to embrace AI-enabled tools and ways of working.

Location Requirement
