The Talent Business Advisor - Manager is the accessible, on-the-ground HR partner for employees and leaders within assigned India Business Units (BU). This is an integral role in managing the execution of people-related initiatives and programs that enhance the employee experience for India talent. Reporting to the U.S. Talent Business Advisor team and working with the India Talent Director and local leadership, this role supports the operational and logistical needs of key talent processes and employee matters helping ensure a consistent, efficient, and people-centered approach to talent delivery. 

This role collaborates with a range of stakeholders across the Talent Solutions team and business units to execute core HR functions such as onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, and workforce logistics. This position offers a unique opportunity to broaden and deepen experience in talent operations while learning how HR strategy is implemented in a professional services environment. 

Required Responsibilities 

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees and leadership on talent, HR policy and procedures. 

  • Build trusted relationships with BU leaders and provide practical counsel on business unit needs, employee matters and emerging talent risks. Work closely with India Talent Director and peers. 

  • Partner globally with U.S. Talent Business Leader and U.S. Advisors to manage the implementation of core talent processes across the employee lifecycle (e.g., onboarding, offboarding, performance management, absences, rewards processes, and employee engagement initiatives). 

  • Provide accurate local and Firm context, recommendations and regular status updates and visibility to the US Talent Business Leader; seek direction or approval for BU-specific or sensitive matters. 

  • Translate agreed guidance into clear stakeholder actions, establish owners and timelines, and follow each matter through resolution and formal closure. 

  • Create insightful reporting and analytics, with recommendations that inform leadership talent decisions. 

  • Identify recurring employee themes or policy misunderstandings and support targeted communications and consistent practices across India BUs. 

Capabilities  

  • Demonstrated HR advisory, HR business partnering or generalist experience supporting both employees and business leaders in India. 

  • Experience handling employee concerns and workplace matters, including fact gathering, risk assessment, documentation, escalation and follow-through. 

  • Practical knowledge of India-specific HR policies, employment practices, governance and local requirements, with sound judgment on when specialist or legal guidance is needed. 

  • Experience operating across the employee lifecycle and coordinating with specialist teams such as Employee Relations, HR operations, etc. 

  • Strong stakeholder management in a matrixed environment, including the ability to work effectively with local leaders and remotely based business or talent leaders. 

  • Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain policy, provide concise and proactive updates, surface risk and communicate sensitive decisions appropriately. 

  • High levels of discretion, empathy, organization and accountability, with a consistent record of driving actions to closure. 

  • Strong Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, HR technology platforms such as Workday, reporting tools, and approved AI-enabled resources.

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred. 

  • 7-10 years of human resources, talent management, employee experience, people operations, business operations, or related professional experience preferred. 

  • Experience in a multinational, shared-services or globally matrixed organization. 

  • Experience partnering with US-based or other international HR and business stakeholders across time zones. 

  • Exposure to talent reviews, succession, career development, recognition, engagement and retention programs. 

  • Experience supporting organizational movement, promotions, role changes, mobility and employee exits. 

  • Experience identifying workforce themes and turning recurring issues into targeted manager or employee communications.
