The SVP of Commercial Deposit & Treasury Operations leads a multi-functional team responsible for commercial deposit servicing, treasury management implementation and administration, and related business digital banking support. This leader is responsible for building scalable operations that support business growth, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and maintain strong operational controls. Managing both individual contributors and people leaders, the role partners closely with Commercial Banking Sales, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and external vendors to optimize onboarding and service delivery, advance automation and process improvement, develop team capabilities, and help shape the strategic direction of the Bank's commercial deposit and treasury management offerings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Leads the strategic direction for Commercial Deposit and Treasury Operations, ensuring alignment with the Bank’s overall business banking, growth, client experience, and operational priorities.

• Develops and recommends a strategic roadmap for the ongoing maturity of business-focused products and services.

• Drives innovation and excellence through the promotion, use, and implementation of business products and services that best fit the principles of high standards at Gate City Bank.

• Identifies solutions, efficiencies, and automation opportunities to improve staffing capacity for growth.

• Leads Treasury Management activities, including timely, accurate, effective, and efficient process design to deliver outstanding customer service and drive portfolio growth and recurring fee income.

• Collaborates closely with the Commercial Banking Sales team to effectively translate and align operational and sales outcomes for mutual success. Participates occasionally in prospect/customer meetings to maintain a strong understanding of evolving business expectations.

• Responsible for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control, customer obsession, and training.

• Manages revenues and provides oversight regarding expenses within the department and is responsible for meeting budget goals and objectives.

• Leads departmental projects, implementations, process improvement priorities, and system releases, adhering to change management best practices.

• Leads operational evaluation, recommendation, implementation, and ongoing optimization of business deposit and treasury products and services.

• Ensures effective business continuity, operational resilience, incident response, and contingency procedures for commercial deposit and treasury services, coordinating timely communication and resolution when service disruptions occur.

• Manages departmental vendors’ contract negotiations, performance, invoicing, and timely issue resolution by demonstrating effective operational risk management.

• Prepares, contributes to, or supports reporting for senior leadership, Executive Committees, or the Board of Directors related to commercial deposit operations and Treasury Management performance, as requested.

• Serves as the first-line operational risk owner for assigned commercial deposit and treasury activities, partnering with Compliance, Risk, Information Security, and Internal Audit to maintain effective controls, complete risk assessments, respond to findings, and oversee sustainable corrective action.

• Partners with internal stakeholders and external vendor partners to deliver innovative solutions with profitable offerings while strengthening operational performance and enhancing the end-to-end customer experience.

• Acts with a sense of urgency for all business processes.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting; 7-10 years of experience in treasury management operations, commercial deposit operations, business banking servicing, payments, or a related financial services function; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Skills:

• Demonstrated people leadership experience.

• Knowledge of commercial deposit products, treasury services, digital banking, operational risk, and regulatory expectations.

• Experience managing servicing, quality, productivity and risk outcomes.

• Strong executive communication, analytical, decision-making, and relationship management skills.

• Preferred experience leading leaders or a multi-layer team.

• Preferred experience with product implementations, vendor management, automation and process improvement.

Certifications: Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) or Certified Treasury Professional Designation (CTP) preferred.
