As a Sr. Engineering & Facilities Maintenance Manager, you will lead the execution of engineering strategies that ensure operational excellence, asset reliability, and sustainable performance across the network. As a Sr. Engineering & Facilities Maintenance Manager, you will serve as a strategic leader responsible for ensuring maximum system uptime, operational continuity, and long-term infrastructure sustainability. You’ll champion a safety-first culture through proactive risk management, advanced training programs, and accountability frameworks. This role empowers you to leverage emerging technologies, preventive maintenance, and data-driven strategies to optimize performance and reduce total cost of ownership. Through strong cross-functional partnerships, you will enable operational leaders to exceed standards for service, quality, and productivity.
Maintenance Reliability:
You will oversee all engineering and maintenance operations to ensure peak performance of material handling equipment, powered industrial trucks, conveyors, sortation systems, and related technologies. Drive reliability and efficiency through preventative maintenance, continuous improvement initiatives, and advanced analytics. Serve as a key responder for emergent events, including natural disasters and critical system failures, ensuring rapid recovery and minimal disruption to operations.
Budget Planning and Cost Control:
Manage operational (OpEx) and capital (CapEx) budgets to deliver strong financial performance while optimizing equipment lifecycle value. Partner with third-party vendors to ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements and deliver exceptional service. Oversee site improvement and construction projects from concept to completion, coordinating internal teams and external partners to achieve on-time, on-budget outcomes that support operational excellence.
Team Leadership:
Build and develop a high-performing team of maintenance leaders, technicians, facility attendants, and CMMS specialists who are passionate about continuous learning and improvement. Execute best-in-class asset management processes to maximize reliability, availability, and compliance. Collaborate with HQ Supply Chain Engineering on network standards, future growth planning, and implementation of network-wide initiatives for consistency and scalability.
Facility Infrastructure Oversight and Project Management:
You are a proactive, results-driven professional who thrives in dynamic environments. In this role, you’ll manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while ensuring alignment with organizational goals. You’ll also provide technical leadership and serve as a trusted mentor to facilities maintenance leaders, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. About you:
- Preferred 4-year degree in a relevant technical or engineering field, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills with a “safety-first” mindset.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams across multiple shifts—including weekends, overnights, and holidays—while ensuring operational continuity, rapid decision-making, and talent retention in fast-paced, complex environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage critical escalations and lead recovery efforts in a 24/7 operational environment, while confidently owning technical issues, collaborating cross-functionally, and engaging the right partners to drive timely and effective resolution.
- Extensive experience with material handling equipment (MHE), powered industrial trucks, conveyors, sortation systems, and large-scale integrated systems maintenance.
- Skilled in data-driven decision-making and statistical analysis, applying insights to improve reliability, efficiency, and cost.
- Familiar with Lean/Six Sigma, root cause analysis, standardized work, and continuous improvement practices.
- Proven ability to manage OpEx and CapEx budgets, oversee multi-contractor projects, and deliver results on time, in scope, and within budget.
- Experience in emergency response, crisis management, and business continuity planning to maintain operational resiliency during unexpected events.
- Adept at managing multiple priorities and complex projects simultaneously with strong follow-through.
- Ability to drive vendor partner performance and accountability
- Demonstrated expertise in overseeing a broad spectrum of material handling operations, ranging from manual processes to fully automated distribution centers, ensuring optimal efficiency, scalability, and performance across varying levels of complexity.
[F&B Roles Only]:
- Strong knowledge of PSM/RMP and IIAR standards
- RETA certification (CIRO or CARO) strongly preferred
- Refrigeration System Oversight - Lead the maintenance and reliability of ammonia refrigeration systems and other critical infrastructure in a temperature-controlled food and beverage facility. This role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient operation of refrigeration assets while supporting production uptime and facility integrity.
